Rosemary Kennedy, the sister of the late former US President John F. Kennedy, underwent a lobotomy operation due to her mental illness. For the benefit of those who don’t know what lobotomy operation is, it is a surgical procedure to make an incision on the frontal
lobe of an individual, thus damaging some nerves.
The purpose of this surgical incision is to pacify aggressive patients with mental disorders. Unfortunately, this procedure did not succeed with Kennedy and she later died.
