What is an Angelman Syndrome?


Collin Farrell's six-year-old son, James, is suffering from Angelman syndrome (AS) and many were asking,"What is an Angelman syndrome (AS)? According to www.wikipedia.org, Angelman Syndrome is a neuro-genetic disorder characterized by intellectual and developmental delay, sleep disturbance, seizures, jerky movements especially hand-flapping, frequent laughter or smiling, and usually a happy demeanour.

AS is formerly tagged as happy puppet syndrome because of the youthful, happy appearance of the patient and unfortunately, there is currently no available remedy for this condition though, occupational therapy, speech therapy, hydrotherapy and music therapy are used to alleviate the petient's condition.
